posted : 08/03/2007 It's the coolest thing in all of Berwyn! And the shopping center already has a Walgreens in it! It is truly a tragedy, to take the culture and whimsy out of the largely depressing suburb of Berwyn. |

posted : 07/28/2007 I lived in Berwyn for 50 years. I rode in the Houby parade, and always knew i was home when i saw the Spindle. It is a Berwyn icon. Even people here in Tucson talk about seeing it. Clean it, don't take it down. Let Walgreens go elsewhere. |

posted : 07/27/2007 Art is all over the place, call the spindle what you want, a work of art or junk but at the least, it is a HUGE part of recent Berwyn history, & if a drive thru on your walgreens is more important than that, you are 1 hopeless soul.... SAVE HISTORY PLEASE |

posted : 07/24/2007 Chicago Critical Mass believes that public art is worth fighting for, so we are inviting the residents of Berwyn to join us at the base of the Spindle this Friday, July 27 from 7:30 - 8:30 pm, to demonstrate against predatory development. |

posted : 07/21/2007 The only way to draw people to Berwyn is to get better stores and improve the city-not leave a pile of junk up. I would hardly call this art OR a tourist attraction. |

posted : 07/16/2007 I really enjoyed seeing "The Spike" as part of my three-week vacation/tour of Illinois. It was one of the few reasons to even stop in Berwyn. As a result: I stopped, I shopped, I remembered, and I enjoyed my visit all the more. --Gregory |

posted : 07/16/2007 Why Destroy a Landmark. The world knows about Berwyn because of it. It seems the corporations are trying to erase uniqueness. I'm sure there is a group out there that would volunteer to clean it up at least every 6 months, that's all it needs I could help |

posted : 07/13/2007 Get rid of it! It's junk. If Berwyn is seeking to attract people to the community, this hunk of junk doesn't help. People constantly make jokes about how hideous it is. |

posted : 07/13/2007 I don't want to see it come down. If you take it down, Berwyn's tourist attraction will plumet to the ground. We already have a walgreens. Why build a new one? If you need one with a drive thru pharmacy, go out to the one in Broadview or other places. |
